Delta
Power Services
Still patiently awaiting the go ahead from BP to exhibit the new ARRC
rescue craft, Delta staff manned a large static display and demonstrated
a number of craft on water. Delta, who are the largest independent builder
of commercial RIBs in the UK, have a 30 year pedigree in the industry.
Delta are designers of GRP hulled RIBs from 4.7m - 21m covering the full
spectrum of professional power boat markets and have craft operating
in every ocean of the world. The exhibition also saw the launching of
Delta's new website. To see Delta's full production and custom build
portfolio visit: www.deltapower.co.uk
Eurocraft
Always at the leading edge of low pressure inflatable products, Eurocraft
have specialised in inflatable rescue equipment and sponsons for RIB
builders and private individuals. Eurocraft manufactured the RRIB mentioned
above to the De Bratts RRIB Associates design. They also exhibited
their own newly designed and built Slide Raft for rapid rescue of passengers
from downed aircraft or from ferries in inshore and inland waterways.
The Slide Raft is a towable, gas inflated rescue raft, MCA approved
to recover 60 people from a disaster zone and towed to safety. |

Flatacraft
Well no, Flatacraft were not exhibiting at RIBwork. As many will know
our loveable Tony Lee-Elliott, one of the pioneers of leisure inflatable
craft, has retired, if only from the design and build aspect of RIBing.
Flatacraft was represented however at one of the Forum Sessions by
new owner and director Glenn Whitfield who introduced himself. Once
production of the Flatacraft Range re-commences we will be one of
the first to let you know.
Flugga Boats
From Unst on Shetland Flugga Boats build a unique composite boat with
a patented aluminium hull and polyethylene collar, the deck and console
are also finished in aluminium. Flugga Boats have mastered and patented
the technique for forming the 500mm dia x 12mm walled HDPE plastic
collar to give the tubes a very natural contour. The craft provide
a 1 ton payload and have self draining decks on all models.
It's estimated that the boats will have a hull life of 30 years. Currently
Flugga build 6m-8m commercial spec boats, designed to Lloyds and certified
under MCA workboat codes. New hulls over 8m are expected to be available
in early 2007.
