Ocean Dynamics & Bear Grylls Choose Suzuki

Ocean Dynamics following an evaluation selected Suzuki electronic fuel injected 4-strokes for a new range of outboard powered RIBs they are developing.

Having designed and built large offshore aluminium hulled RIBs for many years, including the 11m craft used by Bear Grylls and his team last year for the first successful unassisted crossing of the ice-strewn North Atlantic in an open boat, Ocean Dynamics have turned their attention to building RIBs driven by outboards.

Shaun White, says that, "Until recently, we considered large diesel engines coupled to jet drives as being the eliable
solution for the extremes in which our boats are used, as well as being the
most economical fuel-wise. Now outboard technology has come on to such an extent that performance, reliability and fuel economy seriously compete with diesel engines.

In conjunction with Bear Grylls, we researched all available outboards and concluded that Suzuki lead the way with their EFI 4-strokes."

The first boat being produced is an 8 metre aluminium hulled RIB powered by
one of the recently introduced Suzuki 250hp V6s - the World's most powerful
V6 outboard. This is being supplied to Bear Grylls who will employ it on his Team Building Adventure Courses and wide ranging promotional and media work. In Bear's words, "Suzuki has undoubtedly developed an exciting, winning combination. This is the next generation here already."

The new range will no doubt appeal to leisure users who are looking for a tough hard working RIB as well as increasing opportunities in the commercial sector.
