The New Mark II Scorpion
Launch of new 8.1m

Scorpion Ribs, established in 1996 have built 147 Mark I RIBs between 6.5m and 9.5m. These have been fitted with both outboards and inboards. Plus 6 cruisers and 2, 10m open RIBs with twin inboards.

Now Scorpion have made the launch of the next generation – the Mark II. This new Scorpion is designed with several new features including a wider deck, a raised forward locker and a new console complimented by a range of new seating. The new Scorpion is different in general appearance due to the new features but retains their well developed deep V hull with the sharp end wave piercing capabilities.

The extra width on the non-slip, flat deck makes for better movement on the Scorpion. The forward locker provides totally dry storage space. The new console incorporates a windscreen, storage pockets with drainage holes and a forward facing upholstered seat. The seat hinges up with the aid of gas struts to give easy access to dry storage.

There is even sufficient substantial space, if required, to fit a toilet and/or anchor stowage.

The latest range of Scorpion designed seating includes a new style of deeply upholstered jockey seats. These can be fitted with optional curved backrests, or there is a new twin bolster unit integrated with a lockable upholstered aft facing seat. The new sleek lines formed on the console are carried through the various seat mouldings.

For inboards there is a spacious and totally dry curved engine box with generously proportioned new, high level, waterproof dorade air intakes. The hinged engine lid is wider providing easier access to the engine. The moulding has an integral bathing platform, which can be clad in teak and supplied with a hidden ladder. As with the outboard model, the integrated lockable watertight upholstered aft seat is wider and deeper than the former Scorpions and has a higher backrest and a new way for ease of access.

Sea trials of the first Mark II Scorpion with a Honda 225hp outboard are now available and to book your place please call 01590 677805.
