Marine electronics manufacturer Simrad, has announced the acquisition of UK company B&G Ltd (Brookes and Gatehouse), from Yeoman Group Plc on
Monday October 13th, in a move to expand its interests in the sailing market in which B&G hold a prestigious position. The Yeoman Group has disposed of the company in order to concentrate on the development of its traffic and travel systems. Commenting on the acquisition, Simrad President, Jan Berner said, "B&G will continue to run as a separate company and we envisage little change at the company's Romsey headquarters...This will assist us to

penetrate new markets for us in Superyacht and yacht racing products. In turn, B&G will benefit from greater exposure to worldwide markets through an extensive marketing program. We see this as a significant move forward both for Simrad and B&G and look forward to exploiting synergies between
our product technologies."

B&G technology is used on many of the worlds leading yachts from ocean cruisers and racers to the Americas Cup. It has gained a valuable position as a recognized supplier of instrumentation equipment to the high end yachting industry.
