Windemere Record Week gave the Sportrib SR9 a good chance to show everyone its potential

  Mark Pascoe Limited is pleased to announce the following speed record achievements at Windermere Record Week October 2002, set on Lake Windermere.

First up is 'Comfortably Numb', a Yanmar powered Sportrib SR9 Diesel Inboard, owned by Gareth Williams, Gavin Brown driving, achieved a record speed for Formula 2 Offshore RIB Racing with an astonishing 64.14 mph average speed over two runs. This boat overhauled the previous record held by an outboard powered petrol boat by a fair margin!

'Mr Mako' is a Mercury Powered Sportrib SR9
Formula 1 Offshore raceboat, owned and driven by Jamie Edwards - he managed an astonishing 83.19 mph average speed, with an unofficial run at 86.6 mph! The latest state of the art Formula 1 RIB to hit the offshore circuit this year with two overall wins in the Gibraltar finals already.

Mercury Powered Sportrib SR9 unlimited Offshore race/safety boat, owned and driven by Martin Purnell & Rob Beakhurst went by the name of 'Electrifying'. They achieved a 93.72 mph average speed, with a timed run at 95.148 mph one way and an unofficial run at an astonishing speed in excess of 98 mph!
