The Spirit of Cardiff crew have been honoured by the British Inflatable Boat Owners' Association (BIBOA) with a special Achievement Award, recognising not just the remarkable effort of this year's world circumnavigation attempt in the Spirit of Cardiff, but Alan Priddy's contribution to RIBing over
many years. The award, an antique copper and brass navigation light with inscription, was presented at BIBOA's annual awards dinner on November 30th in Stratford upon Avon. Receiving it was Spirit of Cardiff skipper Alan Priddy and onboard journalist Clive Tully. The crew also received the Yamaha trophy for outstanding sponsored cruise.
For followers of this year's around the world record attempt, hooked on Clive's daily website updates and now suffering from withdrawal symptoms, the good news is that his book "Confronting Poseidon" has just been published. The book is more than just a blow by blow account of the voyage around the world - it also covers the whole history of the project, the people involved and all the record attempts.

"Confronting Poseidon - Around the world against the odds" is available now. The book may be ordered online from the Spirit of Cardiff website priced £19.99 plus £2.50 P+P. The first thousand copies are signed by the crew.
